Essex Training Choir is the training choir for Essex Young Singers.

 

Whilst singers  are not expected to be able to read music when they join

the group they are encouraged to learn to do so and are  supported in this

by the conductors, who work to develop both aural and musical literacy

skills in the singers. Those singers who do not play an instrument are encouraged to start to learn one as this will help to develop skills including musical literacy.

 

ETC  sings music from a wide variety of genres, from sacred music to broadway hits. Rehearsals are lively with plenty of vocal games and physical activities.

 

Since formation in 2006 ETC  has received a number of invitations in recent years to sing works from the main choral repertoire with community choirs from Essex:  

 

             Harlow Chorus at Leisurezone Harlow

 

             Witham & Dovercourt Choral Societies at St Peter's, Coggeshall

 

             The Meljon Singers at Chelmsford Cathedral

 

             Essex Musical Association at Thaxted Church
