On Fridays during the October and February half terms  Essex Beginner Choir  meets in a different venue in the county for a one day workshop followed joint concert with Essex Training Choir and Essex Young Singers on the last Saturday of half term.

 

In the summer term EBC has its own workshop and showcase for parents and

siblings  on the Thursday of the May half term.

 

EBC builds on the foundations established with EFS.  Beginner Choir sessions   are still fun and foster a positive attitude to singing with others whilst also starting to prepare singers for the musical demands of singing with the

Training Choir.

 

EBC regularly sings pieces in parts, most of which are accompanied on the

piano but some of which are performed unaccompanied. Singers do not need

to be able to read music as many pieces are taught aurally rather than from

notation. However,  the more complex nature of some of the songs can make it

verydemanding for young people to learn if they are not fluent readers of the written word for their age group.
