Essex Music Services
Essex Music Services is the Music Service for Essex County Council.
EMS offers vocal and instrumental tuition in schools, Music Schools
and through world music workshops, instrumental taster sessions,
whole class instrumental tuition in KS2 and a comprehensive range of high quality vocal and instrumental ensemble provision.

EMS Vocal Ensembles
The EMS vocal ensembles run for the young people of Essex at weekends,
during half terms and in the summer holiday, when the Young Singers have a course followed by a Concert Tour.
Janette has established four levels of choral ensemble provision for Essex
Music Services.

Each group has its own workshops and concerts. At least twice a year they all get together to form a joint concert; this normally occurs on the second Saturday of half term in October and May.
Commissioned Piece
In 2008 Janette commissioned Pictures of Night a piece for the Beginner Choir,
Training Choir and Young Singers - from the Colchester-based composer Dr Alan Bullard. The work was premièred at Colchester Institute on May 1st 2008.
The Vocal Ensembles Team
Janette has built a team of skilled accompanists and conductors to work
with each group. From time to time teachers from Essex schools are invited to attend a workshop to work with one of the choirs.
