Janette led an ambitious  three hour vocal workshop designed to move from simple rhythmic chants using body percussion and fun activities using physical dimensions, via African layering pieces and partner songs, to working from notation. 

                                                        

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The final session focussed  on longer pieces. These  included:  Shto mi e milo, The Peanut Vendor, Somethin' Stupid, O Lux beatissima and Love Divine.

Janette led a vocal workshop and group vocal composition activities with a group of blind and partially sighted adults.  The workshops explored ideas from the music of Handel and the visual art work of Marcellus Laroon(1679-1772) whose whose paintings, drawings and prints form  'The Music Party' temporary exhibition at Handel House.  

 

 

Janette devised a one-day workshop (2006) and a series of six follow-up sessions (2007) for Harlow Chorus designed to get adults back into singing with a view to them developing both the confidence and the competence to pass an audition to join the choir. This course proved highly popular and several singers did go to join the choir.

 

Janette was invited to run a second series of Sing Out! workshops: a one-day workshop in September 2008 followed by a series of eight workshops in 2009.

 

In order to build on the success of these events, Harlow Chorus then invited Janette to become the Musical Director of their new adult training choir programme. Harlow Chorus Academy first met on November 2nd 2009.

 

 

 

In October 2010 Janette led a workshop on Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man with Hutton & Shenfield Choral Society.
