Supporting the professional development of singing leaders
Janette has extensive experience of delivering vocal workshops to students in schools and in supporting schools to develop the singing leadership skills of adults in school (class teachers, teaching & midday assistants) and selected students.
Her involvement in the national Sing Up initiative has included the Chelmsford Cathedral's Choral Outreach Project, working as an animateur with children and teachers from thirty schools and the Chelmsford diocese in 2008-9 and 2009-10. Janette's work as part of the 2007-8 Sing Up funded abcd project, Leading from the Front was featured in the September 2008 edition of the Sing Up magazine.
Conductor and Choral Trainer
Janette trains nine choirs. Four are youth choirs - with three upper voice groups covering key stages 1 to 3 and an SATB choir in key stage 4. The five adult choirs include a training choir for singers aged 18 and over and four chamber choirs whose membership ranges from 12 to 34 voices.
She is also in demand as a freelance workshop leader.
